
The expansions also add very little to the game, like a new type of building or two - I'd say that the entire combined 'expansions' with that version should be considered one single expansion for how small and modular each one is.

They're also very difficult to shuffle since they're hexes and pretty small, and putting cardboard chits in cloth bags is a good way to fray all the edges, so I 3d printed a holder for them and just put them back in as randomly as I can afterward. The 2019 version is what I have and jesus christ the tiles are tiny - I genuinely considered 'deluxifying' my version by buying a magnifying glass to help me see the tiles. I've never played the original but I'll take a maybe somewhat different stance than others here: I do see value to the upcoming remake (but agree that you're mostly paying for unnecessary deluxification).
